The original space was bright and light filled with double height glazing around the atrium and pale exposed brick to the interior walls, however the seating areas were under-utilized due to solar glare, and the meeting rooms were in need of a contemporary update for the tenants to welcome clients.

The ground floor meeting room was removed in favour of a business lounge, with a variety of seating options to be used by tenants and visitors. The new space provides seating booths and a poseur table for touch-down meetings.

The electric blue panels to the entrance were lacking in curb appeal. Bluesky Design solution was to redecorate the panels in a gun metal grey to blend with the other off-black elements of the façade. The entrance lobby was reconsidered, with new ochre post boxes to reduce the amount of loose post and provide accent colour within the space. A minimal tenant sign board directs visitors through the un-manned space.   ‘Stone Cross Place’ signage is illuminated with a cross effect logo to re-inforce the building name. This motif has been applied to glazing as manifestation.

Ombre effect manifestation has been added to the ground level glazing to provide privacy to the  lounge seating areas, which are screened off with timber slatted planters. Inset carpet helps zone the areas in the space.

The flooring has been replaced with terrazzo effect vinyl which contrasts with the dark grey painted brick walls and smoked oak timber wall panelling. Steel blue-grey paint finishes have been applied to partitions and ceilings in the lounge and meeting room. The ‘X’ motif features in acoustic ceiling panels to the business lounge and the meeting room has been enhanced with new wall treatments, furniture and AV allowing presentation and VC calls to take place.

Eric Wright are delighted with the transformation of their welcome areas, and are looking to roll the concept out throughout the building.
