The scope of the project was to include enlarging the original narrow reception lobby to incorporate part of the adjacent ground floor office suite.

The building occupies a site which was originally a former timber yard, supporting the Joint Central Station in the city. This heritage informed the design language of the new reception space, reflecting the opulance of Victorian train travel. Historical motifs, reeded glass, geometric floor tiles and softened edges were used to create a bright, welcoming lobby area with touchdown points for visitors and tenants alike.

The reception desk was repositioned to face the new circle-slide entrance doors, and a variety seating options are provided. A refreshment point with self-serve coffee machine, bar seating and feature canopy with suspended signage provides a central feature. Bespoke planters and statement lighting help to soften the space, while seating booths provide a comfortable spot to check emails or have an informal meeting over a coffee.

The project also included the Cat A refurbishment of both ground floor office suites, which were upated with new floor finishes, teapoints and exposed ceiling services to create contemporary space.

In addition to the reception works, the basement was also upgraded to include new cycle storage, locker space, shower and changing rooms.

Bluesky Design are now engaged to carry out further works in the building, including refurbishment of office space and washrooms on the upper floors.
